Senior Art Handler & Preparator, Art Gallery, New York City
For our internationally regarding contemporary art gallery client we are seeking a Senior Art Handler & Preparator. The successful applicant will handle all aspects of art handling for the gallery and a satellite location, including installation and deinstallation, exhibition logistics and planning, lighting, wall and building maintenance, overseeing part-time and temp art handlers, assisting sales staff with display of work for viewings, other duties as necessary. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience as an art handler/preparator with a major art gallery or auction house and excellent communications, organizational and project management skills. Art Fair and off-site experience a plus. BA in Art History or equivalent required; the ability to take direction, problem-solve and liaise with staff, vendors and clients is essential. An excellent position for a dedicated, deadline-oriented and highly professional team-player. Salary to 60K DOE and excellent benefits.
