Registrar, Auction House, New York City
For our distinguished auction house client we are seeking a Registrar. The successful applicant will handle all aspects of art handling including: oversee warehousing and other long and short-term storage, manage national and international shipping including packing and insurance, perform condition reports, lead art handler team, liaise with consultants, vendors and transporters, oversee all related databases, manage presentation of work related to live auctions, other duties as necessary. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience as a registrar with a major art gallery or auction house and excellent communications, organizational, computer and project management skills. BA in Art History or equivalent required; the ability to manage multiple deadlines, problem-solve and liaise with staff, vendors and clients is essential. An excellent position for a dedicated, deadline-oriented and highly professional team-player. Salary to 70K DOE and benefits.
