Technician – open until filled
The Fort Bend County Museum Association located in Richmond, TX operates the Fort Bend County Museum, a county history museum that tells the story of Fort Bend County, Texas from its beginnings in Austin's Colony to the present. It also manages the George Ranch Historical Park in conjunction with the George Foundation
The FBCMA is seeking a part
time collections technician to perform registrar tasks and clean its historic
homes. Regular tasks include overseeing loan and accession documentation, dusting,
cleaning windows, vacuuming, and damp mopping. Other tasks will include
chandelier cleaning, silver polishing and floor/furniture waxing as necessary.
The collections technician will be supervised by the Chief Curator of
Collections and will be expected to follow all standards for loans, accessions,
and care of museum artifacts and historic house interiors.
Experience with museum collections and historic house
situations preferred. Training will be provided. House cleaning experience
required. Degree in History, Museum Studies or related program preferred, High
School diploma or GED required.
The Museum Technician will work 24 hours per week at $10 per
hour with occasional additional hours required.
