Job Summary:
Exhibition installation duties such as moving, hanging or otherwise installing works of art, label and sign production, lighting and painting galleries walls. Assists with the construction of exhibition furniture such as object mounts, cases, pedestals, risers, and temporary walls. Under the supervision of the chief preparator, this position works closely with museum curators, registrars, and the departments of education and security in the preparation and installation of approximately 25 exhibitions per year. Assists with packing and unpacking works of art for travel and crate fabrication when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Secondary-level education in fine arts, art history, or related field. Experience working with museum or gallery exhibitions and collections is preferred.
