JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Missouri History Museum is seeking four candidates to undertake a wall-to-wall inventory of its Objects Collection. The primary goal of this project is to ensure that locations for accessioned objects are accurately reflected in the more than 77,000 object catalog records on Mimsy, the museum’s collections management database, with any location discrepancies to be updated. The inventory team will also be responsible for reconciling any catalog records lacking objects (i.e., missing objects) and any objects lacking catalog records (i.e., undocumented, or Found-In-Collection objects). This part of the project will require in-depth research in the museum’s accession files (a.k.a., Item History Files).
