THE ROLE
Under the guidance and direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Technician is responsible for packaging and handling artwork in a safe and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Packaging and handling artwork in a safe and efficient manner.
· Properly load and unload trucks inclusive of artwork and other related materials.
· Maintains accurate paperwork including bills of lading of jobs and storage account information.
· Ensures warehouse cleanliness, checks materials and equipment to ensure proper operation.
· Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must have 1-3 years of warehouse experience perferred.
· Experience in art handling preferred.
· Knowledge of and experience in facilities and building management.
· Database management (i.e. Filemaker or similar) experience preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to facilitate problem resolution.
· Technical acuity to include the ability to operate various kinds of dollies, jay bar and hydraulic lifts.
· Good communication skills, positive attitude, detailed oriented and excellent team building skills are a must.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Excellent skills in communicating effectively in oral and written form.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Incumbents can be expected to work in conditions that require operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying to load and unload materials for transport to and from the warehouse, vendors, and locations throughout the facility. Incumbent will be exposed to outside weather conditions on a frequent basis and is expected to enter and exit trucks and trailers. Work may involve exposure to heights and employees may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Environmental conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
