Environment and object conservation technician
The technician will assist in the care and maintenance of the objects in the CMA collection under the supervision of the conservator of objects. This technician will also assist in the monitoring of the museum’s environment. Duties include performing minor maintenance to artwork, preparing storage upgrades for individual objects, documenting the environment with HOBO units, preparing environmental control materials for exhibition, preparing Oddy tests and other tasks related to the collection.
The applicant must have a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in fine arts from four‑year college or university; one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to use Microsoft Office to write and prepare routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, members of outside organizations, employees of organization, or visiting scholars and conservators. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
