*Assistant Registrar, Permanent Collection (Regular Full-Time)*
*Registration & Collections*
Reporting to the Senior Associate Registrar, Permanent Collection, the
Assistant Registrar, Permanent Collection will process new acquisitions,
supervise interns, and assist in maintaining LACMA’s extensive and diverse
permanent collection.
Some duties include: reviews and negotiates acquisition agreements with
donors, vendors and curatorial; drafts agenda for quarterly acquisition
meetings; accessions new acquisitions and processes payments; updates and
maintains permanent collection physical records and database; prepares
annual collection statistics; assists with processing long-term loans; when
applicable, assists with installation documentation and/or inventory checks
for new acquisitions.
The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Art History,
Museum Studies, or a related field and one to three years of experience in
museum registration. Candidate must also have a demonstrated knowledge of
standard museum practices and procedures. Database knowledge is required
(TMS experience preferred) as well as a proficiency in Microsoft Office
programs. Fluency in Spanish or another foreign language is a preferred.
