The Preparation, Art handling, Collections Care, Information Network (PACCIN) is thrilled to announce two upcoming programs:
2018 PACCIN Rigging Workshop: We are excited to announce a one day workshop about rigging at the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, Washington on Saturday, May 19, 2018. We plan on a half day of presentations, and a half day of demonstrations. Presenters/demonstrators will include Luke Boehnke, Owner/Principle at Wolf Magritte, LLC; Julia Latané, PACCIN Programs Chair and Head Preparator at The Broad museum in Los Angeles; and Kevin Marshall, PACCIN Programs Committee member and Head of Preparations at The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Registration begins in February. Contact Mike Hascall at Mikeh@artechseattle.com for more information.
2019 PACCIN Preparators Conference: We are very happy to announce the first European PACCIN Prep Conference. Three distinguished Dutch museums, the Stedelijk Museum, Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum, all located at the Museum Square in Amsterdam, have volunteered to host the conference on 11, 12 and 13 April 2019. Join us to learn about work practices overseas, exchange ideas and use this opportunity to expand your network. Topics will include new forms of collaboration, innovation and sustainability in the field. PACCIN welcomes new voices and ideas for presentations and speakers, please submit session proposals to julia@paccin.org.
