The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) seeks a well-qualified individual for the position of Associate Reigistrar for Collections to assist with the management of the permanent collection.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing the accessioning process from incoming shipment through the review process and documentation.
Scheduling all meetings, generating all forms and reports, reviewi cataloguing and creating all paper files associated with the accessioning process.
Assisting the Registrar with the deaccessioning process.
Assisting the Registrar with inventories, object storage and vault maintenance.
Managing additional projects as assigned.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an art history related field or equivalent professional experience
3-5 years’ museum registration experience
Ability to work within deadlines as well as independently and across departments
Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills
Strong proof-reading skills
Working knowledge of TMS, MS Office, and Photoshop required; Crystal Reports and SSRS experience is desirable
Energy and physical stamina including some art handling and the ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs
