The Midwest Art Conservation Center is seeking a full-time registrar. Responsibilities include art and artifact handling, registrarial management, client service relations, and associated support activities.

The position requires a high degree of respect for art and cultural artifacts coupled with excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Candidates should have experience in safely handling art, database management, standard office software systems, and an appreciation for the field of art conservation. A bachelor’s degree with museum, gallery or related experience is required.

MACC is an independent, nonprofit, regional center providing comprehensive conservation services in Paintings, Objects, Paper and Textiles. The staff is collaborative and very collegial. MACC works innovatively with the curatorial and collection professionals at hundreds of Midwest institutions including the largest art museums, historical societies, universities, libraries and archives, as well as small and mid-sized institutions with unique and varied collections. MACC also works with individual artists and the public at large. MACC laboratories are located within the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
