Job Title: Museum Relocation Site Manager-0058-18 (Full-time)
Location: Landover, MD
Reports to: National Manager of Special Projects and Senior Project Manager

THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Project Manager as well as the National Manager of Special Projects, the Museum Relocation Site Manager will supervise and manage the daily operations on site of a major museum relocation project. The Site Manager will ensure that project tasks are completed in a manner that is safe, efficient, and meets project deadlines. The position will involve executing and coordinating activities between the client, subcontractors, and a large Artex staff.
Duties and responsibilities for the position include:
· Attending meetings with client to coordinate activities and clarify expectations and responsibilities between project stakeholders.
· Supervising and coordinating relocation activities in museum galleries as well as transportation activity with client, SI COTR and Artex site supervisors.
· Effectively delegating tasks and activities among Artex site supervisors.
· Serving as the Artex’s primary daily contact with client and SI COTR.
· Assisting the project manager with creation and execution of detailed project schedules.
· Tracking and monitoring progress for each task schedule to ensure all project deliverables are achieved within agreed upon parameters.
· Creating and maintaining documentation for all aspects of project execution.
· Delivering regular project status reports to the Project Manager and National Manager of Special Projects.
· Proactively flagging and maintaining record of change orders /project scope changes.
· Serving as the Site Safety Manager to ensure that the work environment and all rigging and handling protocols comply fully with OSHA standards.
Required
Minimum five (5) years of experience planning, managing, supervising, and coordinating field operations for protection and relocation of artifacts and objects which are part of an AAM accredited museum’s collection. Demonstrated experience in working in a recognized museum required.
BS/BA/BBA Degree required.
Must have significant knowledge of processes-driven methodologies with a strong focus on continuous process improvement;
Superior interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate and influence others, build effective interpersonal relationships, and foster and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, verbal & writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
Demonstrated subject matter expertise using Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Qualification or progress toward Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Ability to make formal presentations to audiences at various levels.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Experience with Federal Government contracts and projects
· Experience with project management software (Primavera, Smartsheets)
· OSHA 30 Hour Training
