THIS ROLE
Central to the visitors’ experience is the rich weave of artifact-based and interactive exhibits that we curate onsite with a world-class team of curatorial and archival staff. This is an opportunity for someone who is experienced in helping conceptualize and deliver rich and engaging content in a Museum setting. Working with Museum management, the Exhibits team, the Archives team, various contractors and vendors, you and your team will be able to shape an abstract, creative vision into an interactive and engaging experience for Museum visitors. To do this effectively you will need to be adept at balancing functional Project Management steps with an iterative process that allows the creative vision to take shape and evolve as the project unfolds; in other words, you will need to balance the rigid, transactional parts of your job with the fluidity that creativity demands.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The basic qualifications for this role include eight years of related experience developing public facing exhibits, ideally in a Museum setting. This experience will have provided qualified applicants the opportunity to apply experiential design principles to broadly engaging, sustainable exhibits combining traditional exhibit techniques with high-concept design, media, and interactive experiences. A strong understanding of exhibit production techniques, exhibit materials, and project management will be critical in leading the development and implementation of projects ranging from periodic updates to 10,000 square foot temporary exhibits.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Just as important as the resume and experience you bring to the conversation, we will also be looking for the right fit for the team. To be successful in this role you will need to integrate into engaged and passionate team who come to work every day to roll up their sleeves. You will find quickly that passion and contributing to a collaborative team environment will quickly blur the lines for most roles; you will not often hear “that’s not my job.”
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
8 years of related experience is required.
We offer an inclusive compensation package for all full-time salaried employees including, but not limited to, annual bonus programs, health insurance benefits, a 401k program, onsite fitness centers and employee stores, employee discounts on products and accessories, and more. We believe that employees do their best work when they are free to be themselves. This means our dress code is relaxed, and all types of work styles are welcomed.
