The Treasurer is a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Beyond the general duties and responsibilities as a director on the board, the Treasurer is responsible for providing the financial reports of the organization to the rest of the board.
- Participate in monthly board meetings (1+ hr) as a voting member of the board
- Provide monthly verbal financial reports to board
- Ensures development and board review of financial policies and procedures
The Treasurer is appointed by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer will serve a four-year term with possible reappointment by the Board of Directors not to exceed two consecutive terms.
Executive Committee
The Treasurer is a member of the executive committee who attends and participates in the quarterly executive meetings along with the Board of Directors Chair, Vice Chair, Board Secretary and executive officer.
General responsibilities
Manages finances of the organization: keep and maintain adequate and correct accounts of the business transactions of the organization, including accounts of its assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains, losses, capital, retained earnings, and other matters customarily included in financial statements such as:
- Membership transactions
- Programs registration
- Sponsor donations
Systems to be used in this position
- Quickbooks
- Wild Apricot (membership management)
- Other organizational accounts when needed

- Working knowledge of Quickbooks
- Previous experience or working knowledge of accounting principles
- Previous experience in nonprofit protocols and regulations preferred
