Hammer Museum seeks an Assistant Registrar who is responsible for providing departmental support in all areas of collection management and exhibition registration, including the museum’s collection database, TMS. .Assist with smaller temporary and traveling exhibitions, including processing loan forms; making shipping, crating and courier arrangements; scheduling; budgeting; condition reporting; supervising installations and deinstallations; and traveling with exhibitions as needed. Assist with collection-related projects including accessioning and upkeep of collection records, processing and scheduling outgoing loans and yearly inventories and condition reporting.. Maintains department ledgers, reconciles expenses, and processes invoices. Assist with digital images for exhibition related projects and collection documentation. The incumbent will also assist with the monthly condition reviews of the Franklin D. Murphy sculpture garden on UCLA's campus. Provides general department support. Additional duties assigned as needed.
Requirements: Minimum one year museum experience in registration and/or collection management, demonstrated proficiency in database management, TMS preferred. Knowledge of standard museum policies and procedures according to AAM standards. Knowledge of standard museum cataloguing systems.
