Some of the topics covered will be projects that involve packing, installation, outdoor sculpture conservation and reusable crates. Technical topics on 3D scanning for packing and exhibits, integrating technology in exhibit design, specialized rigging methods, and custom-made mounts for works on paper and books. We will also be offering discussion groups, demonstrations and activities for everyone to get involved with.
Museum Tour Day, May 15th
We also have a museum tour day that involves tours and talks at two local museums and an off-site storage facility for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (located in a repurposed salt mine). The storage facility tour includes a Q & A with NAMA staff. The World War I Museum and Memorial will have a talk about their open storage format and the National Toy & Miniature Museum will provide a short talk about building miniature models.
This will be another action packed conference that you should not miss. So register today!
