Unofficial School Transcripts Required if using education to qualify
MAJOR DUTIES
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conducts an inventory of collections recently relocated to the museum's collection storage facility in Newark, New Jersey.
Resolves object numbering issues as needed in consultation with the registrar. Creates new object records and documents other changes for objects for which existing data is incomplete.
Handles objects according to procedures provided by supervisor, and places objects in storage containers in new storage locations.
Manages object housing supplies, and works with registrar to order supplies as needed.
Inspects objects for obvious damage or loss, highlighting problems for conservation staff review and possible further action.
Refers unusual or complex housing situations to supervisor, conservation, or registrar staff for guidance.
Works as part of a team in inventorying the collection. Takes ownership of the project and works collaboratively as part of a team.
