Work with in-house and guest curators to realize the goals of the exhibition based on the curatorial vision for the project.
Develop an overall concept and scheme for the exhibition design of each project, within the scope of the larger framework of annual exhibition planning.
Conceive and realize the design for all exhibitions including floor plan, layout, palette, graphic design, lighting, audio-visual equipment and special elements.
Work closely with Visual Arts team to create expense projections in relation to project needs and budgets.
Arrange scheduling, technical, material and staffing needs for the installation and de-installation of exhibitions, including working with artists in advance to realize commissioned works of art.
Collaborate with internal YBCA departments to provide timely operations information.
Manage Senior Preparator to ensure effective scheduling and supervision of on-call preparator staff.
Oversee relationship with outside vendors including construction crews, etc.
Oversee training and safe practices of preparatory staff.
Oversee visual arts back room spaces and workshop; inventory of supplies and materials; and maintain gallery related AV gear and other equipment.
Assume responsibility for the daily operation and maintenance of exhibitions.
