ARTEX Fine Art Services has an immediate opening for a customer/detailed oriented Crate Shop Technician. This is a full-time position with the potential for advancement. The essential functions of this position include providing various technical assistance to the crate shop and its regular production of fine art crating.
The ideal candidate will possess the following as minimum qualifications:
· A minimum of three (3) years of college level studio arts training in sculpture or two (2) years of previous crate shop and/or crate packing experience required; extensive experience in-lieu of minimum education may be considered;
· Excellent attention to detail, an understanding of archival materials, museum specifications for crating and packing of museum traveling exhibitions or economical crating methods;
· Three-dimensional packing experience is desired;
· Knowledge of general shop safety and power tools (i.e. table saw, radial arm saw, staplers etc.) and their recommended safety requirements.
