Job DescriptionThe Manager for Engineering Systems will be part of a facilities management team responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of The Museum’s physical plant. Primary responsibilities will be the maintenance, repair and construction of the Museum’s HVAC equipment and systems, automatic temperature control and Building Management (BMS) systems. Responsibilities include management of various repair and maintenance contracts with regard to water treatment, HVAC, elevators, etc.. Also included is the supervision of union maintenance personnel in various shops, hiring, training and managing associated labor issues. Coordination between Facilities Management and Construction Management with regard to major capital projects.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Operation and maintenance of the physical plant
• Management, development and monitoring and of the BMS (Building Management System)
• Management of the automatic temperature control systems
• Management of HVAC system and equipment repair, rehabilitation and replacement projects
• Management of water treatment systems and programs
• Responsible for all HVAC and related contracts
• Supervise union maintenance personnel
• Other related duties
Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
• At least ten years’ experience in facilities management, maintenance and operation of similar buildings is required.
• Thorough knowledge of automatic temperature controls and Building Management Systems
• Management experience with all phases of repair and construction projects
• Knowledge of water treatment systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
Knowledge and Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
