Registrar & Artist's Assistant, New York City
For our distinguished artist client we are seeking a Registrar & Artist's
Assistant. The successful applicant will serve as a registrar and personal
assistant to a dynamic artist working in multiple mediums and locations in
the New York City area and abroad. The ideal candidate will have full
knowledge of and experience with registrarial duties, including condition
reports, international shipping, on and off-site storage, databases and
insurance. In addition, the successful applicant will provide
executive-level administrative support; manage all aspects of the artist's
office and studio locations; oversee artist's daily schedule; organize and
respond to correspondence; manage and organize office and studio, including
overseeing supply deliveries, organization of files and databases; assist
with financial records; coordinate with staff at other locations; other
duties as necessary. BA in art history or equivalent and 3-5 years'
experience as a registrar necessary, with major private or corporate
collections experience strongly preferred. Artist liaison experience
desirable; some international travel required. Salary DOE. An excellent
and unique opportunity for a discreet, dedicated professional with excellent
organizational, communications and database skills and the ability to work
