Lehmann Maupin Gallery is looking for an experienced, Full-time Registrar with a main focus on inventory and database maintenance. Key areas of responsibility:
Manage the inventory of the gallery
- Enter and update all inventory into database
- Enter and update all inventory records, sales prices, and any terms for payments into database
- Liaise with Archivist to maintain gallery image database
- Liaise with all gallery departments with regard to inventory updates and changes
- Oversee location changes entered into database
Manage consignment and loan agreements
- Draft consignment & loan forms (in & out) for works with other galleries, museums and artists
- Track consignment/loan periods and notify registrars when they are near expiration
Request, draft and track Certificates Of Authenticity
Track Bill Of Lading for Finance department
Request COIs
Assist with scheduling transport of artworks
Familiarity with condition reporting and art handling procedure
We are looking for someone who is:
- Very organized, detail-oriented, punctual, and systems-oriented
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure, exciting, international environment
- Articulate, confident, a team player
- A minimum of 3 years experience at a contemporary art gallery, a fine art shipping company, auction house or museum institution.
