Yerba Buena Center for the Arts seeks a Senior Exhibitions Manager. This is a key visual arts position which participates in exciting cross-programmatic activities and projects.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all operational aspects of exhibition production, including planning, scheduling and budgeting.
• Serve as the point-person in the Director’s absence
• Develop and manage exhibition plans and schedules, coordinating internal and external needs and communicate cross-departmentally.
• Manage overall exhibit production workflow.
• Supervise and manage workflow of the Chief Preparator and Registrar.
• Assist the Director of Visual Arts in preparing and maintaining budgets, and tracking expenses for exhibitions.
• Develop and negotiate contracts with artists, guest curators, and contractors.
• Manage production of Visual Arts collateral materials.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Humanities, Art History or similar field of study required.
• Minimum 5 years exhibition management and 3 years supervisory experience in a museum,gallery, or arts organization.
• Familiarity with Mac systems and museum database and design software applications.
