Integrated Pest Management and Dermestid Facility

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History seeks an experienced and energetic professional for the position of Collections Technician (Curator/Archivist I) for Integrated Pest Management and the Dermestid Facility. The Collections Technician will: 1) provide technical assistance for the Museum's collections by managing the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program, including operation and maintenance of the Isolation and Treatment facility; 2) monitor Museum collection environments; 3) maintain and operate the Dermestid Facility for research-quality skeletal preparations; and 4) participate in service to the Museum, museum community, university, and professional organizations at the local, state, regional, and national level. Duties will be performed in accordance with accepted museum practices and standards for collections care.

The candidate will receive general supervision from the Curatorial Associate and Head Curator, and may supervise a small staff, students, interns, and/or volunteers. The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, museum studies, or other appropriate museum-related discipline; some museum-related experience is preferred.

Salary Range: $30,000 plus full benefits.
