RegistrarThe Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Registrar for Loans and Exhibitions will oversee the routine management of collections-related projects, including exhibitions and loans. This position reports to the Director of Exhibitions and Collections and will work closely with the exhibitions, curatorial, research, and other functional units across the organization. The incumbent will be a central resource for borrowers, lenders, conservators and other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage all logistics and documentation for incoming/outgoing loans and in-house and traveling exhibitions, including handling, packing, and condition reporting.
Coordinate exhibition-related conservation needs assessment, staging, installation and de-installation.
Create and update records in exhibitions database and produce reports as needed.
Collaborate with exhibitions, security and curatorial departments to ensure the safety, security, and preservation of collections in galleries, including monitoring and recording environmental conditions and pest management.
Manage exhibition and loan project budgets, produce purchase orders, and track and report project budgets.
Develop and implement professional registration policy and procedures. Procure supplies and track expenses for collections management equipment and materials.
Serve on committees and participate in organization-wide projects and events as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in art, art history, museum studies or related field
Minimum three years of museum registration experience managing loans and exhibitions
Demonstrated knowledge of museum and loaning policies and procedures, and professional registration best practices
Strong project management skills and attention to detail
Excellent ability to interact with collectors, donors, and curators
Excellent oral and written communication skills
