EXHIBITIONS MANAGER – CHARLES M. SCHULZ MUSEUM, SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA
Description
The Charles M. Schulz Museum, a not-for-profit museum located in Santa Rosa, California, seeks a multi-talented, collaborative, and organized Exhibitions Manager to join our creative team. The Museum presents a dynamic schedule of year-round exhibitions and programming in a 27,000-square foot facility, as well as traveling exhibitions domestically and abroad.
Reporting to the Curator, the Exhibitions Manager is responsible for the design, fabrication, and installation of internal exhibitions. This includes:
-Taking the lead in the planning, development, design, and installation of all in-house exhibitions.
-Development of exhibition graphics, signage, and labels.
-Managing wall construction, painting, lighting, framing, and development of display fixtures and mounts.
-Development of interactive exhibition elements that invite visitor participation.
-Administering budgets for internal exhibitions.
-Maintenance of permanent and rotating exhibitions on view within the Museum.
Job RequirementsQualifications
-A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
-Project management experience with museum exhibitions.
-Ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
-Ability to collaborate with staff, supporters, and outside vendors. This includes curators, registrars, facilities staff, graphic designers, and art handlers.
-Strong budget skills; exceptional organizational skills.
-Knowledge of standard museum loan and registration practices.
-Experience with art handling and knowledge of best practices.
-Graphic design background.
