Job Description
FULL-TIME COLLECTIONS DATABASE ASSOCIATE
CARNEGIE MUSEUM OF ART

Carnegie Museum of Art seeks a full-time collections database associate to manage data related to the provenance and exhibition history of the permanent collection. This position works closely with the collections database administrator to implement and maintain standards, policies, and documentation; enter data; and perform periodic testing to ensure the integrity of data.

Job Requirements
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, excellent computer skills, and a working knowledge of collections management systems. Knowledge of KE Emu is highly desirable. Previous experience in a museum, library, archive or comparable organization is preferred. The collections database associate should be knowledgeable about best practices and standards in collections management and registration, with some background in art/art history. S/he must have strong planning and organizational skills; be a good problem-solver; and have the ability to communicate with multiple constituents. S/he should be equally adept at working independently and in a team-oriented environment, including maintaining collegial relationships with individuals from different backgrounds and levels of expertise. Must be able to pay close attention to detail; meet deadlines; remain calm under pressure and with frequent interruptions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is primarily sedentary in nature; there will be close contact with a personal computer for long periods of time.
