For our world-renowned contemporary art gallery we are seeking a Registrar.
The successful candidate will manage all registrarial duties including
maintenance of inventory and all related databases; condition reports and
photography of works; national and international shipping; on and off-site
storage management; oversee installation and de-installation of exhibitions
both in-house and at other locations including national and international
art fairs; hire and oversee temporary art handlers and other staff for same;
oversee crating, packing and unpacking; work with the controller and
accounting staff regarding financial information, reporting and costs;
liaise with conservators, framers and other vendors as applicable; other
duties as necessary. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years'
experience at a major contemporary art gallery or auction house, detailed
knowledge of art databases and superb oral, interpersonal and written
communications skills. BA in Art History or equivalent required. Some
travel. An excellent opportunity for a mature, team-oriented problem-solver
