The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) seeks a Paintings Conservator (Job 4.20) to support the Senior Conservator in the Collections and Information Access Center. OMCA is one of the Bay Area's leading cultural institutions and the only museum devoted to the art, history, and natural sciences of the state. OMCA recently completed a $62.2 million capital campaign for the Museum's first-ever renovation and is currently undertaking a significant organizational transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of OMCA's transformation as a 21st century museum. The Paintings Conservator is responsible for the treatment of paintings in the collection, and advising on proper environmental conditions for their protection in storage, on exhibition, or on loan. Incumbent performs skilled conservation work on collections within their specialization including research, examination, documentation, treatment, and preventative maintenance. Additional information regarding the Museum and position can be found at www.museumca.org.
