Purpose of Position:This position is responsible for fabrication, installation and removal of exhibitions at the museums of the State of New Mexico in Santa Fe, and other facilities of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. This position is part of the fabrication team that builds museum exhibition furniture, pedestals, platforms and other exhibit components. This position requires precision and advanced level woodworking skills that include working from blue prints, drawings and plans as needed per project. This position has become proficient at full performance level and will provide adequate guidance, assign work, train, support, monitor and mentor employees, interns and volunteers based upon the fact that they have mastered full performance at the advanced role. This position will also assign work to employees, per project as assigned. The fabricators participate in concept design meetings, materials research and cost estimates per project as assigned. This position is responsible for maintenance of the exhibits workshop, tools and the state vehicle.
This position is a Pay Band 55.
