Senior Exhibit Technician - Natural History Museum of LA County

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking a Senior Exhibit Technician for our Education and Exhibits Department. Primary responsibilities include maintenance and installation of exhibits, assistance in planning and development of maintenance schedules for exhibits, fabrication planning and work for exhibit components, and repair of exhibit components.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in art, science, or media field from an accredited college, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of related work experience
• Must have advanced level skills in at least 4 of the areas listed below:
  
  • Wood working/ construction/ carpentry
  • Fabrication
  • Ability to create drawing sets for fabrication/ installation/ construction/ documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Metal working
  • Mount-making
  • Lighting
  • Audio
  • Video
  • Object Handling
  • Painting
  • Mechanical
  • Computers/ software/ programming
  • Electronics
