Maquette Fine Art Services—[Washington, DC/Forestville, MD] is excited to offer a unique opportunity for highly skilled woodworking professionals to join our distinguished team. This position offers the chance to join a select group of individuals and contribute to our dedicated and talented team.
We are currently interviewing for a Cate Shop Technician position. We seek applicants with at least 2-5-years of experience in Carpentry, woodworking, and crate construction for fine art. Your expertise is highly valued and will be a significant asset to our team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in woodworking and constructing custom crates for fine art
  • Knowledge of suitable packing materials and techniques for artwork tailored for both long-term storage and short-term transportation
  • Proficiency in operating woodworking machinery, including table saw, compound miter saw, band saws, panel saw, pneumatic staplers and nailers, power drills, belt sanders, routers, biscuit joiners, airless paint sprayer and other hand tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to meet project deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Experience in maintaining accurate documentation of projects and materials used
  • Prior experience in packing and handling fine art is advantageous

Physical Requirements:

  • Must Be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, carry, kneel, twist, squat, bend and reach overhead
